Facings

If your teeth are discolored or a bit crooked, you can touch it up with facings. A facing is a tiny shield made of porcelain or composite that is pasted onto your tooth. The porcelain facings are a good option to touch up your teeth. The porcelain facing is indistinguishable from your own teeth. They stay shiny and new for a long amount of time and have the same shade of your own teeth.

Because the dentist works close with the dental technician you will get the best results. There is a lot of consultation between the both of them about the possibilities. The dental technician visits the practice regularly to discuss the results together with the dentist and patient. This way we guarantee the best esthetic results. Our facings are made by Gino, he is specialized in esthetic dentalcare and his only focus is manufacturing crowns, bridges and facings. He’s been in this business for over 25 years, making him very skilled.

What to expect from a porcelain facing treatment?

Step 1:

At the first appointment the dentist will remove a tiny layer of tooth enamel so the facing fits perfectly with the rest of your teeth. A precision print is being made of the tooth and you will get a temporary facing. The dental technician will check the coloring of the facing and will make additional x-rays of your teeth. There’s plenty of time to go through your wishes with the dentist and the dental technician. A new appointment is made with the dental technician to finish the facing. This appointment is around two weeks after the first appointment.

Step 2:

At the next appointment the facing is ‘finished’. This is done together with the dental technician. The facing is fitted and if necessary adjusted. If the fitting, color and shape are all perfect the facing is placed on the tooth and the treatment is finished.
